Technical specifications:

• Function: It acts as a thermal sensor that monitors the temperature of the cooling coils (Evaporator Coils). Its function is to allow electric current to pass into the "melting heater" (Defrost Heater) only when the temperature drops to a certain point, and then cut off the current once the snow melts and the temperature rises.

How to use and maintain

• Mechanism of action:

  1. During the cooling cycle, the regulator remains in "disconnect" (Open) mode.

  2. When the melting cycle starts, if the regulator detects that the temperature of the coils is low (ice buildup), it closes the circuit (Close) to turn on the heater.

  3. Once the ice melts and the temperature reaches a certain point, the regulator opens the circuit to cut off electricity to the heater to protect the refrigerator.

• Symptoms of damage:

  • Snow accumulation: Heavy ice collects on the evaporator coils inside the freezer, obstructing airflow and making the freezer too cold or the refrigerator warm.
