Mechanism of action: it relies on an internal ceramic disc whose resistance to electric current increases rapidly as the current passes (as a result of heating), which reduces the current reaching the starting coil to a very small level that is almost non-existent once the motor rotates.

1. When should it be replaced?

Hearing a "tick" (clicking) sound: if you hear a recurring crackling sound every few minutes, it means the compressor is trying to start but cannot, and the relay is disconnecting the power as a protection measure.

Compressor not working: If the fan is working but the compressor is completely silent or makes a slight buzz.

Shake the reel: if you remove and shake the reel and hear a "cracking" or "rattling" sound inside it, it means that the inner ceramic disc has crumbled and must be replaced immediately.
2. Installation instructions:

Safety: unplug power completely about the refrigerator.

Access to the compressor: the reel is mounted directly on the side of the compressor (below the back of the refrigerator).

Unscrewing: carefully pull the old reels out of the compressor terminals. It may be secured with a metal clip or a plastic protective cover.

Installation: make sure that the terminals (slots in the relay) exactly match the compressor pins (located in a triangular position: one upper and two lower). Do not use excessive force to ensure that the compressor pins do not break.
